The
Marketplace Situation
Executive coaching can be effectively used to increase organizational success
in times of change such as promotions, stretch assignments, and to meet other
new challenges. Effective coaching can develop leaders in the context of their
current jobs, can support top performers and can facilitate changes in behavior
that would benefit the individual and the team.
Purpose
• Support individual career growth, problem
solving ability, delegation, communication and collaboration
skills.
• Provide individuals with a sense of awareness and competence in areas
critical to business success.
• Assist the client in seeing business situations clearly, understanding
the interpersonal and business dynamics involved, and appropriate responses
Coaching Protocol
• Discovery and Assessment Initial
meetings focus on gathering information, building trust and
understanding the situation as the client sees it. If assessment
tools such as 360 degree evaluations are available they are
integrated into this phase.
• Goal Setting Client sets specific goals for the coaching
engagement
• Building Awareness and Competence Client gains a clear
perspective on the situations in question. Client determines behavior appropriate
for the situations
• Refining Competence Client practices new awareness
and behavior in actual job situations and reviews during coaching sessions
• Support and Action Plan Client develops a follow-up
contact plan to reinforce the new awareness and behaviors on an ongoing basis.
Client becomes “self-coaching.”
Schedule
• We generally suggest weekly contact for one hour
or every other week for one and one-half hours. Regular times are set in advance.
• Follow up contact plan is provided to the client to reinforce desired
and sustained interpersonal change. |
